General cleaning operations—including garbage collection, vacuuming and cleaning of bathroom and other plumbing fixtures—at office buildings, commercial and public facilities,

Guest room maintenance—including bed making, amenity stocking and vacuuming—at first-class and business hotels

Wages

Starting from ¥950 to ¥1,100 per hour, plus partial transportation allowance

Working hours

General cleaning: early morning, morning, morning to afternoon, and night time

Guest room maintenance: 9:00 to 15:00, 10:00 to 16:00, and 9:00 to 16:00

Working locations

General cleaning: Kasumigaseki, Shinbashi, Ginza, Shinjuku, Akasaka, Roppongi, Ikebukuro, Nakano, Otemachi, Kawasaki, Fuchu and others

Guest room maintenance: Toranomon, Otemachi, Suitengu, Maihama, Gotanda, Takadanobaba, Tachikawa, Omiya and others

Working days

General cleaning: Monday through Friday, Saturday and Sunday ,rotating schedule.
Guest room maintenance: rotating schedule, four to five days a week

Holidays/vacation

Dependant on working locations and schedules, such as four- or five-day workweeks. There are some jobs that offer Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays off. Please feel free to ask.

Finding the perfect work/life balance

I enjoy shopping in Marunouchi in the afternoon after work.

I work in cleaning at a hotel in the mornings, coming directly to my workplace after sending my child off to school. The hotel where I work is in a business district, so I can enjoy window shopping and shopping for dinner at a department store in the afternoon. It’s a good situation for me, because I can place a priority on my time.
Working location: Otemachi

I finish one job before my primary workday begins.

I bicycle to my primary place of work after finishing my cleaning job at an office building from 6:00 to 9:00 in the morning. I find that I often get good ideas, as my brain becomes clear when I am performing physical tasks that don’t require much thought. Although I received a caution concerning my metabolic reserves at my company’s health examination, I am doing myself good both physically and psychologically since I began my cleaning job.
